ISTMA Seminar on 25 March 2026

We are pleased to inform that the Institute of Singapore Trade Mark Agents (“ISTMA”) will be organizing the following seminar on the 25th of March 2026:

“When Code Creates : An update of issues arising from the intersection of AI, IP and Data Protection

Synopsis: In February 2024, IPOS and SMU jointly published a comprehensive landscape report addressing the complex issues at the intersection of AI technologies and intellectual property laws. Since then, the technological landscape has evolved significantly, presenting businesses and creators with novel opportunities to harness and commercialize AI innovations as well as legal and ethical challenges. Join our speakers to hear updates on the impact of AI technologies on IP and data protection. The topics discussed will include IP protection of AI generated trade marks and processing of personal data during AI training and deployment. This is a seminar that explores what is legal and what is right, when working with AI, and how lawyers can identify and manage the ethical issues that lawyers may face in their use of AI including for client’s matters or with regard to client information.

The Speakers will be Trina Ha, Chief Legal Counsel & Director of IPOS, and Anastasia Chen, Director of Drew & Napier. The moderator will be the ISTMA President, Mr Soh Kar Liang.
